SMB Aids In Community-Building

San Miguel Brewery Inc. - Davao Brewery (SMB Inc. - DB) recently extended assistance to the ongoing construction of 178 housing units for the Gawad Kalinga Village in Brgy. Igpit, Digos City, Davao del Sur.

Davao del Sur Governor Douglas RA. Cagas said during the ceremony: "I am pleased that the biggest beer company, a recipient of numerous recognitions worldwide has again shared its blessings to the less fortunate folks of the province. We believe in SMB's desire to help and its genuine concern in helping build communities through the Gawad Kalinga project."

"I hope San Miguel Brewery Inc. will be emulated by other companies," he added.

Parallel to its century-old tradition of leadership in manufacturing quality products, SMB is putting life and meaning into its corporate social responsibility, the task of sharing and giving back to the community.

Through the years, SMB has been part of every Filipino celebration. The company has supported fiestas and youth-oriented activities including, art workshops, quiz bees and poster-making contests, as well as programs for adult residents. SMB also sponsored employee-led Pinaskuhan Drive for the larger-communities of Bantay Bata 163, Marist Fathers, Parish of Sta. Cruz and Benedictine Nun of Digos to making its all-employee Emergency Response Team better every day.
